Founder and owner Nikki Holbrook, CPA, leverages over 20 years of progressive audit, compliance, and accounting experience to deliver tax strategies, solutions, and preparation services to individuals, small businesses, and non-profit organizations. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in Accounting and subsequently, a Master’s of Business Administration degree, from Howard University. As a committed leader in the accounting community, she serves as the lead tax return reviewer for the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program at Howard University and has held various leadership roles within the National Association of Black Accountants.

  • Capitol City Taxes LLC provides expert income tax preparation services for individuals, including sole proprietors, independent contractors, and single-member LLCs, as well as partnerships, multi-member LLCs, S corporations, and non-profit organizations.

    In addition to income tax preparation, we offer:

    • Tax estimates and projections to help you plan ahead

    • Consultations on tax implications of various financial matters and decisions

    • Bookkeeping and accounting services necessary for entity-related tax preparation

    Please note: We do not currently provide tax preparation for (“C”) corporations, estates, or trusts, nor do we offer audit representation services. We also do not perform attestations services (e.g. audits, reviews, compilations, agreed-upon procedures).

  • The following are starting rates for tax return preparation. Please schedule a consultation for a personalized quote and information about other services offered.

    • Individual Returns – Starting at $350
      Standard fee includes Form 1040 with simple credits and/or deductions, including Schedule A, and one state return. Returns with business income/losses (sole proprietors, independent contractors, single-member LLCs), capital gains/losses, rental income/losses, additional states, amendments (Form 1040-X) , for nonresidents (Form 1040-NR), or those requiring bookkeeping or accounting assistance are billed additional fees at an hourly rate.

    • Business Returns – Starting at $750
      Standard fee for Form 1065 (partnerships, multi-member LLCs), Form 1120S (S Corporations), and Form 990 series (exempt/non-profit organizations) with zero or minimal activity. Quotes vary widely; size and complexity of business determine additional fees clients are billed, at an hourly rate. 

    If you made less than $69,000 in 2025, you may qualify to have your returns prepared for free by the IRS’s VITA program. If you reside in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, Community Tax Aid DC offers free tax preparation both in-person and virtually.

  • Our tax return preparation process is conducted remotely utilizing web-based tools and meetings are conducted virtually. However, we are open to discussing alternative arrangements for clients who may need in-person assistance and are based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
